Charlottes First Thanksgiving!

Charlotte enjoyed her first Thanksgiving at Nona's. All she had was milk, but she eyed mums plate of fixins the whole time! It was great to be around family for the day, good food, good conversation and football!

We have so much to be thankful for. This year we were reminded of how precious life is when we lost Nabia's father, our baby boy Buddha, Grammie Charlotte Fortier and Grandma Songer. And were reminded again when welcomed this new precious life in July. Family is all you ever truly have...and we are so thankful for all of our family, and those close to us we consider family. We love you all and hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving day! Happy Holidays from the Fortiers!

Charlotte's Baptism

Thank you to all who came out to celebrate Charlotte's special day. We really appreciate it and it was wonderful to spend the day with you all. And to those who couldn't be there, you were there in spirit and we hope to see you soon! Here are a couple pictures from the day :)

Mom and Char. Dress made by Nabia's grandmother. It was her wedding dress. Nona was christened in it as was Nabia. And now a 3rd generation! Such great tradition we hope to pass on some day!

Charlotte Rae's First Days

She's finally here! Mommy and Daddy made it home safely with baby Charlotte (although the drive home was one of the most nerve racking experiences ever!). We are trying to adjust to our new family life. It'll take some getting used to, that's for sure, but we are trying to enjoy these precious moments with her.

So, no more ultrasounds or preggo pics, from now on it's 100% cuteness! I'm trying to excercise control and not take and post a million photos, but we will try to keep this blog updated regularly as our little cupcake continues to grow.

Thank you everyone for your kind words, love and support. Charlotte and us are very lucky to have you in our lives! We truly and honestly, could not do it without all of your support.

Here's a little slideshow of Charlotte's first couple of days in the world. You can click on the slideshow and it will bring you to the web album where you can see the full size pictures and download pictures if you want.

40 Weeks and Ready to POP!

40 Weeks!

Doesn't seem that long ago when the doctor gave us the due date - 7/10/11. Well, here we are, but Charlotte has other ideas. Looks like she'll be late (wonder who she gets that from?). We've tried a few of those old wives tales to get things started (Raspberry Tea, Primrose, Castor Oil, "etc") but to no avail. House is clean, Nursery is set, arrangements have been made...
and so we wait....
we'll keep you posted!

Bebe Shower!

This Sunday we had the most amazing baby shower that we could have ever imagined. Thanks to Mom Songer (Nona) for putting it all together and for all who helped. Thanks also to Aunt Diane for letting getting the room for us and everything you did. We can't thank everyone enough! Charlotte is so blessed to be coming into a world surrounded by so much love. Thank you Thank You!

Bebes - Showered in Gifts
Yeah, so we got all the stuff home, and unpacked it all that night. I've never seen so much pink in my life! I hope the ultrasound tech was right about it being a girl!

Cake from Nona's friend - Amazing?

7 More Weeks!?

That's right, we're no longer counting in "weeks along" but, how many weeks we are away from meeting our little girl. Although from the looks of Nabia's belly, she could go any minute!

33 Weeks - Adorable, right?
But no. 7 more weeks..nearly 2 months longer and we havent even gotten the point where the baby grows the fastest! They say Charlotte will grow up to 1/2 lb per WEEK from now until she comes. No matter how much I try to wrap my brain around it, I still can't beleive that there is a little human inside there. What else could it be? Cake and ice cream maybe...I kid, i kid! (Love you hunny!)

Nabia is doing great. The long shifts on her feet at work are starting to take their toll on her and there's not much energy left to do much else. I try to encourage her to relax and take a load off but she's not the type to sit around all day and watch TV. But I make sure she doesnt over do it.

Our Childbirth class is over and we learned tons. I also got to sit in on a Breastfeeding class... YAY! How very modern of me. No gentlemen, I didnt get to see anything, but hopefully I absorbed some information that will help Nabia and the baby when the time comes.

Nursery is nearly ready, though we still have to fill it up with stuff and decorate. So, no pictures yet!

As for baby, she's still kicking like CRAZY and, from what the doctor said yesterday, she's head down, face forward and ready for launch. Let's just hope she stays that way :D

I'm not quite ready myself....but I suppose she'll come FAR before that ever happens. :D

Till next time!

27 Weeks and Counting...

27 weeks and counting! Charlotte's kickboxing training is going well as Nabia can attest to. Now we can even see her boppin away, responding sometimes to our voices. I keep trying to tell Nabia that her belly isn't a fish tank...but she keeps pokin at it anyways!

Preparations continue with refinishing the floors in the house, so we could move the office downstairs, so we could setup the nursery. Walls are painted, walls and ceiling are painted, and the decorations are coming along. Just a few more finishing touches and we'll be ready ! (well, the room will be). We'll post pictures when it's finished.

27 Weeks!

All the appointments are going well and everything is as it should be at this point. Nabia is doing well in the beginning of the 3rd Trimester but she's starting to get real tired and achy after long days of work (which means more and more massages from me :/  All in all I can't complain, she's been great... I just hope the next 12 or so weeks go as smooth.

We began the registry process this past week as well. It was fun picking out stuff for Charlotte but I was SHOCKED at the cost of some of this stuff. Man, do they have the market cornered or what? EEsh! Good thing we have such wonderful friends and family and have gotten a TON of hand me down stuff that will save us a FORTUNE.

More to come. Stay tuned!

22 Weeks - First Kicks

Uh Oh! 22 Weeks and already people are asking when we're due. Did we forget to mention, we're just barely HALF way there? Yikes.

22 Weeks!

OH!, And just the other day I got to feel our bebe kickin around mom's belly. I've been trying for weeks, thinking I felt something until *WHAM*! WoW! Such an amazing thing. Of course, it's great for me cuz I can roll over and go to sleep whenever I want while Charlotte breakdances...

Nabia went for her prenatal massage this past week, and Charlotte wouldnt stop kicking during the session. Poor mommy :(

It's a Girl!

What Bebes wants....Bebes gets! It's so surreal, yet it's never been more REAL. We were so anxious all morning and counted down the minutes. When we got to the OB we were called right in and within 30 seconds the U/S Tech saw what she needed to and said "Are you wanting to know the sex" (uhh..YA!)... My heart was racing and she said "I can tell you that you're having...." we were totally expecting her to say "boy" but instead.... "a little baby..girl". (Ok, close those legs now and keep them that way till you're like twenty.....five....)

Perma Grin.

Of course, we would have been happy with a healthy baby ANYTHING, but now we can stop stressing about boy names and Nabia can get her pink on! (This is going to be expensive...)

So, for those who dont know, we have chosen the perfect moniker for our precious baby girl.... Charlotte Rae. Charlotte, after my Grammie (My father's mother who is 90 and is the sweetest lady I know...we love you Grammie!) and Rae after my father Raymond. We couldnt possibly be happier.

So, without further adieu... I'd like to introduce our little bebe...

19 Weeks already? Whoa.

We can't beleive it's already been 19 weeks! Seems like yesterday we were just finding out. Now, in 3 short days (or long..depending who you ask), we find out if our baby has an innie or an outie. This also might be our last post that we call the bebe an it (probably not if it's a boy...since we can NOT agree on a name - thanks for your votes btw..it's a close race!)

This is the first of a series of pics we hope to take every month. We just went to a baby shower and Nabia was almost as big as the girl who is due in less than 2 months...poor Bebe, she's screwed (which pretty much means so am I..heh).
Who's Inside?

Stay tuned! More Ultrasound pics coming this week!

Hello World...

Right about now our little tater tot is baking along slowly at a toasty 98.6 degrees (give or take). So, as we wait for their arrival on or around July 10th 2011, we thought we'd put up this blog to document their journey.

We don't know if we're buying pink or blue quite yet, but we will know on Wednesday the 16th (Don't forget to vote on the right!).

Sup Peeps!

Feel free to subscribe to the blog by entering your email on the right. We'll try to keep it as updated as possible thoughout the coming months. Love you all...Nabia, Keith and Bebe...
